Our tombstone company has been in business for over 25 years and specialises in quality granite and glass tombstone craftsmanship. We offer tailored price packages for all our quality tombstones.

Thabaletsi Tombstones was established in 1997, with our flagship factory shop located at 177 LEDA Industrial Area 2, Nkowankowa. As the years have gone by, we have seen remarkable growth within the industry thanks to our exceptional quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
To date, we have expanded our reach and now have branches in Phalaborwa, Acornhoek, Namakgale, Polokwane, Modjadjiskloof, Sekororo, and Tzaneen for convenient access to our renowned services. Thabaletsi Tombstones imports blocks of granite and cuts them on-site with saws that are specifically manufactured to cut through robust material such as granite or marble. The diameter of our blades is a whopping 2.5 metres and cuts within a millimetre of precision.

Can I customise and personalise the tombstone?
Yes. You may change the design, colour and size of any tombstone. We can add pictures or symbols on the tombstone that show your loved one’s hobbies, work, faith, military service and more, to make it unique. We can also engrave a scripture or your message that says more about your loved one on the tombstone.

You can also check our website and look through the tombstones listed – each one shows its price up front. If you’ve got a budget in mind, use the price filter to see only designs you can afford. Click on any tombstone to check the size, material and any extra costs (like photo engraving or adding accessories, like a vase).
Also, remember, you don’t have to be limited by what you can pay today. Pick the tombstone you love – even a higher-priced memorial you want and pay a deposit up front, then pay the rest in easy instalments. That way, you get exactly what you want without having to pay it all at once.
Can you show me a drawing before I buy?
Certainly. We will prepare a drawing of the tombstone that shows the exact shape, size and colour. You can approve it before we start making the tombstone.
What types of materials are used?
We work mainly in granite because it is strong and lasts many years. A range of granite colours is shown on the display stand and on our website. You can also have a tombstone made of glass.
What information must I get from the cemetery?
Visit the cemetery office and ask for any rules on the size, style, material or engraving they allow for tombstones. Some cemeteries also ask for a permit before a tombstone is placed.
How long does it take to make a stone after I order?
Production of tombstones usually takes about 21 days once the design is final. Extra changes may add a little more time.
How do you polish the tombstone?
We polish the front and back of the tombstone as standard. You may also choose to polish the sides and top of the tombstone at an extra cost.
Can you make any size of stone?
Nearly any tombstone size is possible, but first, ask the cemetery for their maximum tombstone sizes and whether a permit is needed.
What documents should I receive when I buy?
You will receive:

What if I love a stone but cannot afford it right now?
If you need more time to pay, you can put your stone on lay-bye – pay a deposit now, then settle the balance in
instalments over a period you choose. The price stays fixed while you pay, except if our yearly price increase in March falls during your plan.
I want a Tombstone that will last. How do I achieve that?
To create a long-lasting tombstone, choose durable materials like granite or glass, which resist weathering and damage. Consider the climate and potential for erosion when selecting a material and design. Regular cleaning and maintenance can also help extend the lifespan of any headstone
When the tombstone is fully paid for, we finish it and install the tombstone for you.
Can you show me examples of font types, carvings and more?
Yes. Each branch has a display stand with writing samples, carvings, colours and small model tombstones and our website gallery shows these options too.
